Charles L Augenstein

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson, Illinois with Rev. Richard Bremer officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg and one hour before services on Friday in the church. Burial will be in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, Illinois. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson.
Mr. Augenstein was born on December 19, 1916 in Stewardson, Illinois, the son of Charles and Minnie Brandt Augenstein. He married Geraldine Fouste on September 27, 1940. He was a life-long farmer up until the time of his death. Charles was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. He was a past Clarksburg Township Trustee and assistant 4-H leader. Mr. Augenstein enjoyed ballroom dancing every Sunday evening with friends.
Surviving are his son, Kenton Augenstein and wife Evelyn of Strasburg; sister, Edythe Williams of Mattoon; grandchildren, Kathy Frost and husband Wally and Brad Augenstein and wife Kristie all of Strasburg; great grandchildren, Trey and Taylor Frost and Brittani, Kourtni, and Gage Augenstein; and several nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine on March 20, 1999; four brothers; and three sisters.
