Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Father Don Wolford officiating and military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Saint Paul’s Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Road, Damascus, MD 20872.
He was born on December 9, 1934 in Washington, DC, and lived his childhood in southern Maryland. He owned and operated his own business since 1963, and was actively involved until his death.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Betty J. Garner (nee Gatton); seven children, Mary Drew, Patricia Williamson, Jeffrey Garner, Gregory Garner, Timothy Garner, David Garner, and Robert Garner; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild.
