Charles R Stirrett
(May 19, 1935 – July 11, 2010)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 2010, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Mr. Stirrett was born on May 19, 1935 in Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Everett Elmer and Neva Velma Barker Stirrett. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1954 and served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He was a machinist and mechanic.
Surviving are his sons, Chuck Stirrett of Neoga, IL and Darrin Stirrett and wife Kelly of Greenup, IL; daughters, Brenda Gail Pocrnich and husband Marty of Effingham, IL and Patty Logue and husband Corey of Greenup, IL; brother, Jim Stirrett and wife Marilyn of Old Hickory, TN; sister, Rosemary Kneller and husband Richard of Bethany, IL; brother-in-law, Roy Hubner of Mt. Zion, IL; sister-in-law, Betty Stirrett of Sullivan, IL; and five grandchildren, Stefanie Pocrnich, James Casey Lee, Amber Lee, Whitney Stirrett and Pacen Logue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom Stirrett and Roger Stirrett; and sister, Marlene Hubner.
