Clara B Burke

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Christian Church, Shelbyville, IL or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Clara was born on March 22, 1933 in Homer, IL, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Lewis) Forsythe. She graduated from Shelbyville High School the Class of 1951 and later Sparks Business College. She worked for Shelby County State Bank, Oliver Corporation, and retired from the Secretary of State after 17 years as a secretary. Clara was a member of Shelby Christian Church, Shelbyville, IL. She married William F. Burke on June 6, 1954.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Burke of Shelbyville, IL; son, Pat D. (Lynn) Burke of Bloomington, IL; daughter, Ida A. (Mike) Flesner of Springfield, IL; sister, Shirley (Dick) Holland of Findlay, IL; brother, Jim Forsythe of Shelbyville, IL; and grandchildren, Bailey S. (Chris) Flesner Kimball, and Sterling L. Flesner.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Juanita Reed Wicker sister-in-law, Joyce Forsythe; brothers-in-law, Dale Reed and Hugh Wicker.
