Clarence Rentfrow
(February 01, 1945 – December 28, 2017)
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with graveside services to follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Visitation will be from noon – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
Clarence was born on February 1, 1945 in Decatur, IL, the son of Clarence and Agnes Edwards Rentfrow. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1963. He was a 50 year member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 137 of Springfield, IL and was retired from Decker Trucking, Fort Dodge, Iowa. Clarence was a member of the United Methodist Church of Chatham, IL, Chatham Masonic Lodge, Springfield Consistory and Ansar Shrine. He enjoyed participating in NHRA events in the Springfield area and watching NASCR races, especially Kyle Busch.
He is survived by his son, Trent Rentfrow (Deb) of Mason, OH; daughter, Tricia Bodammer (Dan) of Papillion, NE; brother, Marvin Rentfrow of Sullivan, IL; sisters, Betty Ponton (Elmer) of Manteno, IL and Thelma McCabe (Carl) of Westville, IL; and four grandchildren, Jordyn and Ian Rentfrow and Nicholas and Morgan Saterlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Dale, Max and James Rentfrow; and two sisters, Lois Boys and Rochelle McCabe.
