Cleta M Linder

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2014 in Bethany Cemetery, near Assumption, IL with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Casual attire is requested. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals.
Cleta was born on January 8, 1940 in Salem, IL, the daughter of Eugene M. and Violet Claudine Foster Phillips. She married Robert D. “Bob” Linder on April 30, 1956. They owned and operated a grocery store in Owaneco, IL. She later worked at the Pamida Store in Taylorville, IL. Cleta was a member of the former Assumption Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting angels, reading her Bible and singing old hymns.
She is survived by her son, Robert M. Linder and wife Kathy of Taylorville, IL; daughters, Eula M. Paradee of Beecher City, IL, Betty L. Patton of Tower Hill, IL and Oma M. McKittrick of Shelbyville, IL; step-son, Samuel E. Linder of Stewardson, IL; brother, Leroy D. Phillips and wife Linda of Kell, IL; sisters, Carrie Marie of Indiana, Pamela R. Holmes and Cheryl A. Devor both of Salem, IL and Penny S. Lutz of Chrisman, IL; four grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob Linder on June 16, 2002; brothers, B. Edward “Bub” Phillips, Anthony L. Phillips, Bobby Gene Phillips, Cecil Earl Phillips, Jerry Monroe Phillips and one in infancy; and sisters, Betty Lou Dodson and Wanda Louise Herrington.
