Clyde Charles Stremming, 69, of Maryville, formerly of Strasburg, Illinois, died at 6:15 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006 in Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, Illinois.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg with Rev. Steven Becker officiating. Visitation from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Strasburg. Arrangements by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Strasburg. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg or the American Cancer Society.

Clyde was born on September 15, 1936 in Prairie Twp., Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Carl August Godford and Etta Mildred Reel Stremming. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1954 and served in the U.S. Army. He was a press operator for Empire Comfort Systems, Inc in Belleville and previously worked for Brown Shoe Company as a foreman and supervisor. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Strasburg.

Surviving are his brothers, Robert Stremming and wife Betty and Jerome Stremming and wife Nancy A. all of Strasburg; and sister, Christine Brandt and husband Frankie Dee of Stewardson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Nancy I .Stremming.
