Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Robert Barr officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday and from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 in French Cemetery, Allenville, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, North Carolina or Shelbyville Schools Student Fund.
Sue was born on January 30, 1941 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Tony and Betty Ludwig Patterson. She worked at Shelby County Community Services for over 20 years. She enjoyed her flowers, her family, QVC and music.
Surviving are her children, Darren Gipson of Shelbyville, Robert Gipson and wife Kathi of Taylorville, Jason Gipson and wife Dawn of Shelbyville and Leslie Considine and husband Eric of Shelbyville; daughter-in-law, Deana Gipson of Westervelt; brothers, Michael Patterson of Gurnee, IL and Donald Patterson of Land O’Lakes, FL; sisters, Diana Gipson of Covington, IN, Arlene Bush of Oakley, IL, Mary Cain of Flora, IL and Lisa Standerfer of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Andrew Gipson, Kyle Gipson, Madison Gipson, Beau Storey, Jordan Bunch, Cole Gipson, Brett Reed, Jennifer Considine, Kyler Considine, Hannah Considine, Hunter Considine and Kramer Gipson; great grandchildren, Braylin Gipson, Jade Considine, Jules Considine and Adyline Storey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Gipson on August 15, 2008; father, Tony Patterson; mother, Betty Standerfer; and brother, Richard Patterson.
She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
