Daniel Mark “Dan” Bruns , 34, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2021 in his residence.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating.  Casual attire is requested.  Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Booster Foundation.

Dan was born on August 22, 1986 in Decatur, IL, the son of Michael Ray and Noela Jane (Jones) Bruns.  He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 2005.  Dan was a bricklayer for Fox and Austin Masonry in Shelbyville, IL for many years.    He enjoyed archery, fishing, and hunting for deer, turkey and geese. Dan loved spending time with Joel and Miranda, sharing his passion for the outdoors with them. He was a member of Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 in Shelbyville, IL.

He is survived by his children, Joel Everett Bruns and Miranda Laynae Bruns, both of Shelbyville, IL; parents, Mike and Noela Bruns of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Aaron Bruns (Becky) of Shelbyville, IL; three nephews, Karson, Carter and Kaleb Bruns all of Shelbyville, IL; and his aunt, Barbara Jones of Pana, IL.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Noel and Jane Jones; and paternal grandparents, Melvin and Bernice Bruns.
