Darin Stevens

Ralph “Darin” Stevens , 58, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2023 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Cowden Free Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Neville officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2023 in the church. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Darin Stevens Family.

Darin was born on November 4, 1965 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Lawrence Eldon and Roberta May Portwood Stevens.  He attended Armstrong Center School in Mattoon, IL and enjoyed working at Community Support Systems in Teutopolis, IL. He was affiliated with the Free Methodist Church in Cowden, IL. Darin loved semi-trucks, music, and singing karaoke. He also enjoyed watching Westerns and the Dukes of Hazard.

He is survived by his brother, Paul E. Stevens of Cowden, IL; sisters, Beverly E. Hopkins (Fred) of Seneca, MO and Joyce I. Pendlay of Cowden, IL; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Sherrie M. Collins, Shirley A. Arkebauer, Pamela R. Brown, Marla K. Powers and Roberta L. Stevens; and niece, Kristal D. Brown.
