Darrell Eugene Powers , 86, of Findlay, IL passed away at 11:44 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2021 in Shelbyville Manor, Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery (Section B), Shelbyville, IL, with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Darrell was born on June 2, 1934 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of James “Otis” and “Eva” Esta (Pfeiffer) Powers. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1953. Darrell married Zelma “Eileen” Donnel on May 16, 1954. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Darrell farmed near Findlay, IL, and worked as a machine operator at Graphic Packaging, Shelbyville, IL, retiring in 2019 at the age of 85. Darrell was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Westervelt, IL.

Darrell is survived by his sons, John D. Powers (Bonnie) of Windsor, IL, Rick A. Powers (Cathy) of St. Joseph, IL, and Jim L. Powers (Bonnie) of Findlay, IL; daughters, Cindy E. Johnson of Shelbyville, IL, and Bonnie Sue White of Arcola, IL; daughter-in-law, Carol Powers of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Darlene Helton (Joe) of Shelbyville, IL; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen on February 5, 2017; sons, Tim Powers and Donald Powers; daughter, Julie Powers; daughters-in-law, Marla Powers and Lana Powers; brother, Leland Powers; sisters, Jewell Isley and Lola Venters; grandson, Benjamin E. White; and step-grandson, Brandon Miller.
