David J Gipson

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Dialysis Unit or Shelbyville High School Wrestling Program.
David was born on April 3, 1967 in Decatur, Illinois, the son of Robert Carl and Cynthia Sue Patterson Gipson. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1987. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Germany. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and NASCAR. He married Deana A. Kimmel on June 9, 2008 in Shelbyville.
Surviving are his wife, Deana; father, Robert Gipson of Shelbyville; mother, Cynthia Vail of Shelbyville; grandmother, Betty Standerfer of Shelbyville; brothers, Darren Gipson of Shelbyville, Robert Gipson, Jr. and wife Kathleen of Taylorville and Jason Gipson and wife Dawn of Shelbyville; sister, Leslie Gipson and Eric Considine of Shelbyville; and faithful companion, Kramer, his beloved dog.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jerome and Geraldine Gipson and Russell “Tony” Patterson; and uncle, Richard Patterson.
He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and many fishing buddies
