David L Hendricks

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016 at Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Richard Hargrave officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
David was born May 22, 1926 in Okaw Township, Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Luther and Siddie Olive Hendricks. He graduated from Findlay High School in the Class of 1944. He proudly served his country in the Army during World War II. He was a third-generation farmer, retiring in 2010. David was a member of the First Christian Church of Findlay, IL and Shelby County Farm Bureau. He married Edwina “Winnie” Althaus on February 5, 1955 and she preceded him in death on December 20, 2005.
David is survived by his son, Tim D. Hendricks of Findlay, IL; sister, Rozella Andes of Findlay, IL; and two nieces, Sandra Authenrieth of Findlay, IL and Brenda Wheeler and husband Fritz of Oblong, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Winnie Hendricks; and a daughter, Diana K. Leathers in 2006.
