David LeRue Tice, 69, of Shelbyville, Illinois, died at 9:50 p.m. Monday, December 24, 2007 in Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda, Florida.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 31, 2007 in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Jeff Grote officiating. Visitation from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00-10:00 a.m. Monday. Masonic rites will be held at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, Shriner’s Hospitals for Children or donor’s choice.

Mr. Tice was born on February 11, 1938 in Shelbyville, the son of LeRue and Edna Bowers Tice. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1956 and attended Southern Illinois University. He served in the Army National Guard of Illinois. He was a farmer and co-owner of Patterson-Tice John Deere Dealership in Shelbyville from 1985-1997. He served as past president and secretary of Moultrie-Shelby FS and Lakeland FS. He was a member of Shelby County Farm Bureau, Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81, Moose Lodge #1294, and Jackson Masonic Lodge #53 all of Shelbyville. He was a member and twice past president of the Shelby County Shrine Club and a member of the Danville Consistory. He was a member and elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville and an associate member of Burnt Store Presbyterian Church of Punta Gorda, Florida. He was a member of the Platinum Point Yacht Club at Burnt Store Marina in Florida. He married Kathryn Schmitt on March 15, 1964.

Surviving are his wife, Kathy; daughters, Ronda Robinson and husband Billy of Shelbyville and Rochelle Krupp and husband Tom of Imperial, Missouri; brother, Morris Tice and wife Barbara of Shelbyville; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Karli and Tice Robinson and Joshua, Zachary and Jameson Krupp.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Tom Brouwer.
