David N. Lutz , 78, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 3:26 pm on Sunday, February 27, 2022 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at Holland Church, 3086 E 2090 th Avenue, Beecher City, IL with Pastor Sid Hutchinson officiating.  Visitation will be from Noon – 1:15 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022 in the church. Masonic rites will be held at 1:15 p.m. Saturday by the Greenland Masonic Lodge #665 of Beecher City, IL. Burial will follow the service in Hubbartt Cemetery, near Beecher City, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Police Department to establish a K-9 Unit. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

David was born on March 30, 1943 in Effingham, IL, the son of Lester Arthur and Ruby (Nation) Lutz.  He graduated from Beecher City High School in the Class of 1961 and then from the National Barber School in Decatur, IL.  David was a barber for over 54 years, working at Standley’s Barber Shop and then his own shops, Dave’s and Lutz’s Barber Shops all in Shelbyville, IL.  He enjoyed fixing up homes and restoring airplanes and cars.  He married Jacquline M. Barry on September 15, 1990.  She passed away in 1997.

He is survived by his children, Sarah Lewis of Clearwater, FL, Stephen A. Lutz (Renee Zimmerman) of Shelbyville, IL, and Sean Lutz (Hope) of Bradenton, FL; step-children, Melissa Goldman of  Springfield, IL and Dale Goldman of Effingham, IL; seven grandchildren, Leah Lewis, Tabitha Lewis, Jake Lutz, Addison Lutz, Derek Lorton, Brandon Zimmerman, Patricia Parks, Shayne Goldman and Logan Weaver; and six great grandchildren, William and Wyatt Lewis, James and Ava Lewis, and Naomi and  Landon Zimmerman; brothers, Daniel Lutz (Penny) of Cooks Mill, IL, George Lutz of Effingham, IL and Lonnie Lutz (Esther) of Charleston, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester Lutz and Ruby Hill; wife, Jacquline; and son, Scott Lutz.
