David R Perry

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. The services will be followed by a gathering of family and friends at the Senior Center in Shelbyville to celebrate his life. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Mr. Perry was born on April 26, 1919 in Shelbyville, the son of John and Jennie Elizabeth Fought Perry. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. David worked as a power company lineman until his retirement. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Noble of the Mystic Shrine in Al Malaikah Temple of Los Angeles, CA. He married Mildred Shewmake in 1939. She died on November 12, 2000.
Surviving are his sons, John S. Perry of Harahan , LA and David L. Perry (Marie) of Yuma, AZ; daughter, Jacki Lynn Hammond (Gary) of Yuma, AZ; sisters, Martha Butler (Pete) of Shelbyville and Zelma Banning of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Mildred, Clara, Thelma and Kathy; son, Robert D. Perry; daughter, Jenny Darlene Perry; five brothers; two sisters; and two great grandchildren.
