Debra Jean “Debbie” Perryman, 72, of Mt. Zion, IL, passed away at 4:13 p.m. Thursday, October 10, 2024, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.
Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, October 14, 2024, in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor Debbie Hamilton officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – noon in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Area Community Foundation for the Shelbyville Memorial Sunken Garden.
Debbie was born on November 10, 1951, in Shelbyville, IL, the daughter of Lowell Eugene “Gene” and Joyce Elaine (Pinkston) Johnston. During high school, Debbie worked at her father’s grocery store, Gene and Barney’s. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1969. Debbie worked as a teller at Prairie State Bank in Mt. Zion, IL, for 40 years, retiring in 2017. Debbie loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Fighting Illini, and was Caitlin Clark’s biggest fan. She was a member of the Shelbyville First United Methodist Church.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Pantier and husband Rob of Sullivan, IL; sister, Brenda West and husband Richard of Mattoon, IL; brother, David Johnston and wife Sandy of Findlay, IL; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Morgan, Brady, Eric and Ryan; five great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Pamela Butler.
