Delmar Lee “Bud” Bly, 78, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 8:45 p.m. Monday, September 24, 2012 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Visitation will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Following cremation, there will be a private committal service in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany, IL. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Saving Orphaned Animals.

Mr. Bly was born on October 5, 1933 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Delmar Charles and Minnie M. Johns Bly. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1951. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Bud was a sheet metal worker for Shelby Sheet Metal in Shelbyville for many years and later became part owner of the business. He retired from the maintenance department at International Paper in Shelbyville after working there for twenty years with perfect attendance. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Kiwanis Club, Moose Lodge #1294 and Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81 all of Shelbyville, IL. He married Marjorie Bartimus on April 27, 1956.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie; daughter, Kelly K. Bly of Bedford, IN; son, Kevin B. Bly of Shelbyville, IL; brother, Richard Bly of Grapevine, TX; sister, Barbara Watkins of Shelbyville, IL; brother-in-law, James (Linda) Bartimus of Decatur, IL; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Bly, Nelda Smith and Leanne Bartimus all of Bethany, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Lloyd and Thomas Bly.
