Delores I. Gaddis Crutcher, 92, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:25 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2024, at HSHS Good Shepherd Hospital, Shelbyville, IL. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville with Greg Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the South Second Street Church of Christ.

Delores was born on December 25, 1932, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Ervin S. and Ivy (Hassler) Dowler. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1950. She married Lowell A. Gaddis on December 24, 1951, and they were blessed with four children, Tom, Susan, Tim and Terry. Lowell died on December 26, 1973. In 1974, Delores started spending her winters in Arizona and stayed at Orangewood Shadows in Mesa. Delores co-owned Gaddis Grocery Store in Shelbyville for many years. She then worked for Platt’s Jewelry Store and later owned Gaddis Realtors, both in Shelbyville. Delores married Elwood Crutcher on April 12, 1986. He passed away on January 1, 2015. She was a member of the South Second Street Church of Christ, American Business Women’s Association, Lioness, and The Garden Club, all in Shelbyville.

Delores is survived by her sons, Thomas Gaddis and wife Valerie of Shelbyville, IL, and Tim Gaddis of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Susan Stephens of Shelbyville, IL; daughter-in-law, Melissa Gaddis of Shelbyville, IL; four grandchildren, Lowell Ross Gaddis, Sara Beeler, Derek VanWinsen and Aaron Gaddis; and seven great grandchildren, Lilly, Brooklyn, Katelyn, Dalton, Ryan, Trista and Margeaux. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lowell Gaddis and Elwood Crutcher; son, Terry Gaddis; son-in-law, Larry Stephens; grandsons, Thomas Ryan Gaddis and Duran Gaddis; great-grandson, Henry; brother, Eugene Dowler (Eileen); and sister, Shirley Largent-Tate.
