Don was born on September 9, 1946, the son of Winston and Alice Marie (Skiff) Boys. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1964. Don was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He married Gwenda L. Marquiss on November 8, 1996. Don worked as a tire builder at Firestone in Decatur, IL until his retirement. He was a member of Shelbyville V.F.W. Post #4829 and enjoyed mushroom hunting, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Don is survived by his wife, Gwenda; son, David Boys (Jodi) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Amy Rhoads (Kevin) of Olney, IL; grandchildren, Derek Hinton (Jessica), Briare Hinton (Abby), Chance Hinton, Dawson Boys, Jonathon Woods, Austin Rhoads, and Haley Rhoads; great grandchildren Michaela Peters, Korbyn Hinton and Kye Rhoads; brothers, Bill Boys (Paula) of Decatur, IL, Jim Boys (Wendy) of Shelbyville, IL, and Dean Boys of Shelbyville, IL and sister, Barb Boys of Shelbyville, IL.
He was preceded in death by parents; sister, Louise Dilley, and step-son, Jeremy Cutler.
