Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the First Christian Church of Moweaqua with Rev. Greg Taylor and Rev. Phip Sams officiating. Visitation from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Westside Cemetery, Moweaqua. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Little Galilee Christian Assembly, RR #2, Box 266, Clinton, IL 61727.
Mr. Dial was born on February 3, 1920 in Moweaqua, Illinois, the son of John and Nellie Hipes Dial. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and a retired farmer. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Moweaqua. He married Phyllis Trulock and she died on April 30, 1982. He married Nadene Reed in December 1982. She died in August 2005.
Surviving are his step-sons, Ben Merold and wife Pat of St. Charles, MO, James Reed and wife Sharon of Winter Haven, FL, Gerald Reed and wife Meriam of Naples, FL and Dale Reed and wife Yvonne of Savoy, IL; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and other family members in the Moweaqua area including, Jim Dial and family and Marjorie Gorden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two wives.
