Donald D. “Donnie” Houston, Jr. , 69, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 5:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 in Aperion Care in St. Elmo, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Gary Crowder officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in Glenwood Cemetery – Lookout Addition,  Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Booster Foundation.

Donnie was born on April 19, 1953 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Donald David, Sr. and Betty P. (Evans) Houston.  He graduated from Cowden High School.  Donnie worked for Shelby County Community Services until his retirement.  He was an avid fan of the Fighting Illini, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Shelbyville Rams.  Donnie also enjoyed Elvis music and 50’s memorabilia.

He is survived by his niece, Michelle Frederick of Dieterich, IL; great niece, Katelyn Frederick of Dieterich, IL; uncle, Junior Evans of Mt. Vernon, IL; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty; and his sister, Carolyn Frederick.
