Donald E Jones

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Mode United Methodist Church, Mode, Illinois. Visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Illinois. Burial will be in Hubbartt Cemetery, Beecher City, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Mode United Methodist Church.
Donald was born on December 24, 1944 in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Maurice and Wanda Syfert Jones. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1963. Donald was a truck driver for Yellow Freight and a member of International Brotherhood of Teamsters #710, Chicago, Illinois. He was also a member of Mode United Methodist Church, National Rifle Association, Shelby County Grassroots, Old River Chapter of ABATE and the Effingham Chapter of the Harley Owners Group (HOG). He loved hunting and fishing, but most of all cruising the countryside on his Harley-Davidson.
He is survived by his sons, Christopher and Kelly Jones both of Harvard, Illinois; daughter, Jamie (Eric) Brehm of Harvard, Illinois; and brother, Ronald Jones of Laurel Hill, North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
