Donna Jean “Boots” Taylor

Donna Jean “Boots” Taylor , 77, of Mode, IL, formerly of Dacono, CO, passed away at 4:24 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023 in Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Mattoon, IL.

Boots was born on March 12, 1946 in Monticello, IL, the daughter of Robert Elsworth “Dean” and Dorothy Irene (Robinson) Taylor.  She graduated from Bement High School in 1964. Boots worked in the security and maintenance departments at the Denver International Airport and later in the assembly division at OtterBox, both in Colorado.  She recently moved back to Illinois to be close to family. Boots loved animals and feeding the hummingbirds.

She is survived by her cousins, Linda Decker of Mode, IL, Bill West of Long Lane, MO, Nancy Reardon of Stewardson, IL, Patsy Jones Fallbrook of California,  Teresa Tabbert (Paul) of Stewardson, IL, Sherrie Plummer (Jim) of Newton, AL, Tina Hill (Jeff) of Mattoon, IL, Joe Price, Barrett Price, and Tanner Price, all of Mode, IL; sister-in-law, Miyoko Taylor of Allen, TX; dear friend, Chuck Reyka of Denver, CO; and many friends in Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Larry Taylor and Randy Taylor; aunt, Grace West; and her loving partner, Billie Hitchcock.

In keeping with Boots’ wishes, no services will be held.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
