Donna M Fox
(August 05, 1932 – May 20, 2007)

Donna Marie (Ward) Fox, 74, of Shelbyville, was called home to be with Jesus, Sunday, May 20, 2007 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. In her own words, “In hope that there will be a cure and an easier diet to follow in the future, for people who suffer with heart disease and or diabetes.”

Donna was born on August 5, 1932 in Bethany, Illinois, the daughter of Lorandean and D. Lucille Lansden Ward. She attended Bethany High School and Decatur Memorial Nursing School. She chose to leave the program towards the end to marry Robert Frank Fox of Shelbyville on August 11, 1950 and move to El Paso, TX, as he was enlisted in the Army.

Surviving are her husband, Robert Fox; sons, Erich Fox, Mike Fox, and Kevin Fox and wife Becky all of Shelbyville; daughter, Kimberly (Fox) Pittman and husband Mark of Shelbyville; three grandsons, Frank E. Fox and wife Meredith of Mississippi, and Jim and Shawn Cohan both of Shelbyville; great granddaughter, Bridget Fox of Mississippi; sister, Mary McLaughlin and husband Dr. Dean of Sullivan; nephew, Brian; nieces, Shauna and Kathy; and first cousin and very close friend, Mary Katherine Compton and husband Paul of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons at birth; infant sister, Mary Jo Ward; and brother, James Loran Ward.

Donna never met a stranger. She always enjoyed holding a hand, giving a hug, shedding a tear and saying a prayer with people. Then when asked, even to the end when Jesus called her home, she would say “I am fine.” She will be greatly missed by everyone she knew or met.
