Dorothy A Jones

In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, no services will be held. Burial will be at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Community Dialysis. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Dorothy was born on February 12, 1944 in Laurel, MS, the daughter of Josephus C. and Velma Lee (Pitts) Powell. She was an ink mixer for International Paper in Shelbyville, IL, retiring in 1994. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, working in her flower gardens and koi ponds, and caring for her two beloved dogs, Ginger and Shiloh. She married Ronald R. Jones on April 20, 1973.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; son, Jack Jones (Becky) of Shelbyville, IL; daughter, Lisa Watton, (Jim) of Shelbyville, IL; brother, James Powell (Desi) of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Joyce Nadiger of Warwick, RI; and Carylon Faye Cooper of Sterling, CT; four grandchildren, Christopher Jones (Samantha) of Pana, IL, Danielle Young of Shelbyville, IL, Nicholas Young of Stewardson, IL, and Alex Jones of Shelbyville, IL; five great grandchildren; special nephew, Bobby Shawn Powell (fiancée Randa Morris) of Tower Hill, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Robert Earl Powell.
