(February 28, 1934 – April 07, 2006)

Dorothy Ann Wooters, 72, of Shelbyville, passed away at 10:42 a.m. Friday, April 7, 2006 in her residence.

Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, with Rev. Mark Sanders and Gary Crowder officiating. Memorials may be given to Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation.

Mrs. Wooters was born on February 28, 1934 in Shelby County, the daughter of John Orval and Ruby Grace Ripley Banks. She was a graduate of Findlay High School in the Class of 1951. Dorothy worked in the Shelby County Circuit Clerk’s Office until her retirement in 1997 and also managed the Shelby Historic House and Inn in Shelbyville. She attended Shelby Christian Church, Shelbyville. She married Dwight B. Wooters on September 26, 1951 near Westervelt.

Surviving are her husband, Dwight; children, Beth Calvert and husband Dave of Blue Mound, Becky Fedrigon and husband Alan of Shelbyville and Jeff Wooters and wife Heather of Shelbyville; sister, Yvonne Cavanaugh and husband Gerry of DuBois, WY; and four grandsons, Derek and Brett Calvert of Blue Mound and Brayton and Harrison Wooters of Shelbyville.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Orval Banks; mother, Ruby Grace Banks Miller; step-father, Lloyd Miller; and infant daughter, Diana Wooters.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed watching her grandsons participate in various sporting events. She was an avid Cardinal, Illini, and Meridian Hawks fan.

The family would like to thank Dr. Guaglianone, the nursing staff at Shelby Memorial Hospital, and Nancy and Sharon.

Dorothy’s friendly, outgoing personality was a blessing to all who knew her. She will be sadly missed.
