Dorothy Jean Stewardson

Dorothy Jean Stewardson , 72, of Cowden, IL, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023 in Shelbyville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Shelbyville, IL.

In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes, no services will be held.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to her family and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Dorothy was born on August 30, 1950 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Herbert and Gladys Love Keers.  She had a yearning for furthering her education, earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees and later becoming an ordained minister.

She is survived by her son, Jason Stewardson of California; daughter, Carrie Fancher of Kentucky; brother, Herbert “Bud” Keers of Naperville, IL; sister, Donna Daniels of Indianapolis, IN; nieces, Tara Bly (Lois) and Missy Hudson (Kenny) all of Cowden, IL; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patricia “Diane” Tucker.
