Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Robert Tucker officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 9, 2018 and one hour before the funeral service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or March of Dimes
Douglas was born on December 5, 1958 in Assumption, IL, the son of Alfred Gene and Ellen Jean (Camac) Buckles. He graduated from Assumption High School in the Class of 1977. Doug was a tire builder for Firestone in Decatur, IL. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and shared his love of the outdoors with his family. Doug married Gail Anne Spicer on January 20, 1979.
He is survived by his wife, Gail; daughters, Tabatha and Brandie Buckles both of Shelbyville, IL; grandchildren, Bailee and Lilly Buckles both of Shelbyville, IL; father, Gene Buckles of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Debra Banning (Arnold) of Holiday, IL; brothers, John Buckles (Shelby) of Owaneco, IL and Ed Buckles (Judy) of Decatur, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen.
