Dr. John J Baker III

A private family graveside service will be held in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville on Tuesday, October 20, 2020 with Father Pawel Augustyniak officiating. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.
John was born on October 1, 1955 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of John J. Baker, Jr. and Helen R. (Wiegand) Baker. He attended Shelbyville High School and graduated from Kemper Military School in Boonville, MO. He attended DePauw University and graduated from Western Illinois University. John then graduated Louisiana State University School of Dental Medicine. He was a dentist in Fort Smith, Arkansas until his retirement. John enjoyed fishing and waterskiing in his younger days.
He is survived by his two daughters, Ashley Ison (Chris) and Bonnie Baker; four grandchildren, Brody, Ryan, Camden and Asher; father, John J. Baker, Jr. of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Ann Franz of Shelbyville, IL and Barb Harless (Adrian) of Springfield, IL; and brother, Richard Baker of Wake Forest, NC.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Baker in 2000.
