Earl L Lamb
(September 24, 1924 – November 25, 2015)
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Steve DeVore officiating. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Earl was born September 24, 1924 in Shelby County, IL the son of Lloyd Lindsey and Ernestine Paquay Lamb. He graduated from Westervelt High School in the class of 1942. In his youth, Earl helped his dad on the family farm. He was machinist for Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville, IL and Borg-Warner in Decatur, IL. Later, he was a driver for Shelby County Community Services in Shelbyville, IL. Earl enjoyed playing fast-pitch softball and was a center fielder for the Moose and Oliver teams. He also coached little league teams in Shelbyville, IL and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Earl married Barbara Jean Allison on June 12, 1948.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Jeffry (Arlene) Lamb of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Tricia (Mitchell) Wiegner of Normal, IL and Gregory (Karen) Lamb of Decatur, IL; and five great-grandsons, Mason, Jackson, Drew, Blake and Jase.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Lamb; and sisters, Leona Colclasure and Vera Workman.
