Earl Roy McClain , 93, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 30, 2021 in his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Mark Sanders and Rev. Don Gerkin officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday both in the funeral home. Burial will be in Findlay Cemetery with military rites by Clarence Bixler American Legion Post #409 of Findlay, IL. Memorials may be given to Land of Lincoln Honor Flight or Lincolnland Hospice.

Earl was born on October 22, 1927, in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Francis M. and Nannie (Grant) McClain. He was a veteran of WW II and the Korean War, serving in the Coast Guard, Merchant Marines and Marine Corps.  He married Mary J. Vukson on December 17, 1941, and she preceded him in death on July 21, 1988. Earl was an electrician and owned and operated McClain Electric in Findlay until his retirement.  He was a member of Shelby Christian Church in Shelbyville. He married Lynda J. Norman on June 17, 1989.

Earl is survived by his wife, Lynda; sons, Robert McClain and wife Julie of Sullivan, IL, Ronald McClain and wife Brenda of Findlay, IL, and Rodney McClain and wife Michelle of Findlay, IL; daughters, Patricia McClain of Arizona, Christine Cloyd and husband Ron of Findlay, IL, and Penny Brown and husband, Bud of Pana, IL; seventeen grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and half brother, Ivan Willaims and wife Audrey of Cerro Gordo, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Mary J. McClain; brothers, Emory, Glen, Herb and Carl McClain; sisters, Ruby Twitty, Velma Banasiewicz and Opal Lemmons; step-brother, Harrell Williams; and step-sister, Helen Lee.
