Funeral services will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Greg Breeden officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be given to the Education Fund for the grandchildren of Edith Hartman.
Edith was born on December 6, 1949 in Red Fox, Kentucky, the daughter of Hillard and Lois Everidge Hammond. She was a supervisor in the lid department of International Paper in Shelbyville at the time of her retirement. She was an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Shelbyville. Edith enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, visiting with people and caring for her animals. She married Gerald F. Hartman on February 7, 1991 in Shelbyville, IL. He died on February 5, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Fredrick Duaine Brown and wife Amy of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Bill Hammond and wife Barbara and Jim Amburgey and wife Lorraine; sister, Nancy Durbin; and three grandchildren, Dalton Logue, Willow Brown and Kagome Brown all of Shelbyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gerald; and son, Fritz Doyle Brown.
