Edna M Clawson

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Ted A. Hartley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, near Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Fourth Street United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Edna was born on October 8, 1924 in Douglas County, Illinois, the daughter of Firth Davis and Sue Ann Atchison Sain. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1942 and attended Lake Land College in Mattoon, IL. Edna was a retail clerk working for Gaddis Grocery, Coast to Coast and Quality Market all in Shelbyville. She was also a library assistant at Main Street School in Shelbyville and worked at the Shelby County Historical and Genealogical Society under the Green Thumb Program. Edna was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville, IL, where she was active in United Methodist Women. She married James W. Manship in 1946. She later married Harold M. Clawson on May 21, 1983. He died on February 4, 1993.
She is survived by her sons, Jay Manship and wife Vicki of Mt. Zion, IL and Kevin D. Manship and wife Pam of Shelbyville, IL; son-in-law, Jim Graven of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Wanda Medler of Assumption, IL and Juanita Compton and husband Frank of Lakewood, IL; sister-in-law, Phillis Sain of Shelbyville, IL; six grandchildren, Kyle Manship and wife Amy of Springhill, TN, Blake Manship and wife J.C. of San Francisco, CA; Stephanie Shadwell and husband Todd of Shelbyville, IL, Tiffanie Graven of Assumption, IL, Heath Graven and wife Martha of Shelbyville, IL and Garrett Manship of Shelbyville, IL; five step-grandchildren, Scott Skowonski and wife Patti of Glenn Ellyn, IL, Angela Ronk of Champaign, IL, Tina Knox and husband Kris of Farmer City, IL, Scott Darnell of Shelbyville, IL and Kevin Darnell and wife Elizsha of Shelbyville, IL; nine great grandchildren; ten step-great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and special friend, Nile Page of Shelbyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; daughter, Judy Graven on October 17, 2003; brothers, Dale Sain, Bill Sain and Milt Sain; and sisters, Mary Ellen Walden, Dorothy Tubb, Thelma Temmens and Alta Foor.
