Edward F Brown

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to V.F.W. Post #4829 or Saving Orphaned Animals both in Shelbyville, IL.
Fritz was born on August 29, 1944 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Edna B. Fox Brown. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1962. Fritz was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, where he was a sentry dog handler and trainer while stationed in Korea. He worked for PPG in Mt. Zion, IL, until his retirement. Fritz also owned and operated Bo-Jack Kennels in Shelbyville, IL, training sentry dogs for Fort Sill Army Base in Oklahoma. Fritz was a member of VFW Post #4829, Old River ABATE, Moose Lodge #1294 and Eagles Lodge #4395 all of Shelbyville, IL. He married Edith Hammond.
He is survived by his son, Duaine Brown and wife Amy of Shelbyville, IL; sisters, Donna Tull of Shelbyville, IL and Carol Calhoun of Mt. Zion, IL; niece, Melissa “Mitzie” A. Gaddis and husband Terry of Shelbyville, IL; nephew, Robbie Calhoun and wife Kim of Mt. Zion, IL; three grandchildren, Dalton, Willow, and Kagome Brown all of Shelbyville, IL; great niece, Alyssa Calhoun of Mt. Zion, IL; and great nephew, Colton Calhoun of Mt. Zion, IL.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna Brown; son, Fritz Doyle Brown; sister, Norma Yoder; and brothers-in-law, Keith Himes and Butch Calhoun.
