Edward Glenn Watton , 68, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 4:45 pm, Thursday, October 19, 2023 in Shelbyville Manor.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held for friends and family at a future date, details to come.  Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be made to: Cardinals Care or Shelbyville American Legion Post #81 and mailed to Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, 415 N. Broadway, Shelbyville, IL 62565.

Ed was born on January 5, 1955, in Granite City, IL and attended Shelbyville High School, graduating in the Class of 1973, where he played baseball and participated in marching band.  He attended Lake Land College.  Ed held a few jobs in his life, and worked at Graphic Packaging for over 20 years, until his retirement in 2021.  Ed was an avid Cardinals fan and loved attending games at Busch Stadium.  Ed’s favorite pastime was “cruising” through town with a Diet Coke in the console and spending time at the lake.

He is survived by his three daughters, Jessica Watton of Shelbyville, IL, Paige Watton of Kankakee, IL, and Abbie Watton of Seattle, WA; siblings, Beverly Logue (Terry) of Shelbyville, IL, Jim Watton (Lisa) of Shelbyville, IL, Debbie Matlock (Mike) of Assumption, IL, Donnie Watton (Charlotte) of Shelbyville, IL and Jane Dintelman of Creve Coeur, MO; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Jessie Ellis Watton; and sister, Barb Carter.
