Dorothy Eileen Woods, 75, of Shelbyville, died at 5:40 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2006 in her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday with Order of Eastern Star rites at 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Jordan Cemetery, near Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville.

Mrs. Woods was born on March 22, 1931 in rural Shelbyville, Illinois, the daughter of Ray C. and Ethel Jennings Graven. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1950. She worked at the Morgan House in Shelbyville and C.E.F.S. as the coordinator for their Retired Senior Volunteer Program (R.S.V.P.). She was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville, where she was Deaconess and Chairperson of World Outreach. She was a member and Secretary of Order of Eastern Star Shelbyville Chapter #69 and a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Shelbyville. She was a wonderful mother and housewife. She married Leonard D. Woods on July 30, 1950.

Surviving are her husband, Leonard; sons, Robert L. Woods of Springfield and Dennis W. Woods and wife Cheryl of Shelbyville; daughter, Bonnie Woods of Shelbyville; brothers, Don Graven of Arcola, Eugene Graven and wife Maryann of Clarksville, TN, Bob Graven and wife Nadine of Shelbyville and Jim Graven and special friend Deanna Pettyjohn of Shelbyville; sisters, Louise Heathcock of Shelbyville and Liz Mueller of Crest Hill; and four grandchildren, Eric Woods of Shelbyville, Justin Woods and Ashley Woods both of Mt Vernon and Sarah Martz and husband Brandon of Jacksonville, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Leonard Allen Woods; and brother, Charles Graven.
