Eldor W Zeckser

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 9, 2010 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson with Rev. Richard Bremer officiating. Visitation from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the church. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Mode, Illinois. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Mr. Zeckser was born on December 14, 1928 in Onaga, Kansas, the son of William Henry and Emma Theresa Berges Zeckser. He retired from El Paso Gas Company as superintendent of the natural gas pipeline. Eldor was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. He enjoyed helping with Krile-Tabbert Auction Service and repairing lawn mowers. He married Virginia L. Rogers on October 25, 1969.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; son, Eldor Eugene Zeckser of Couer D’Alene, ID; daughters, Gail Thompson of Woodstock, IL, Janell “Jae” Liscio of Mocksville, NC and Connie Thennes of McHenry, IL; sister, Nyla Peters of Chanute, KS; ten grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles Zeckser; and brothers, Vernon and Roger Zeckser.
