Graveside services will be held at noon on Monday, February 10, 2014 in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m.- noon Monday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Fourth Street United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, IL.
Mrs. Parr was born on September 9, 1915 in Clarksburg, IL, the daughter of Lorenzo “Dow” and Edna Campbell Williams. She graduated from Shelbyville High School. She was a farm wife and enjoyed raising miniature ponies. Elsie was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church, Shelbyville, IL and a former member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. She married Damon M. Parr in 1933. He died on May 9, 1986.
She is survived by her son, Don Parr of Caledonia, IL; grandchildren, Jill Leon and husband Zenido, Kimberly Schmitt and husband Ricky, and Jack Parr, Jr. all of Waukegan, IL; four great grandchildren, Chris, Michelle, Tanya and Jesse; and great great granddaughter, Makala.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Damon; son, Jack Eugene Parr; brother, Dale Williams; and sisters, Beulah Grove, Myra Miller, Lola Edwards, Edith Gregg, Alice Knapp and Gladys Mathis.
