Elvera M Switzer
(October 30, 1925 – October 13, 2006)

Elvera Marie Switzer, 80, of Shelbyville, passed from earth to eternal life in God at 2:45 a.m. Friday, October 13, 2006 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Switzer was born on October 30, 1925 in Summit Township, Effingham County, Illinois, the middle sister of three daughters born to Herman W. and Maria F. (Berg) Stuckemeyer. On May 6, 1950, Elvera was united in marriage with Nohl Quentin Switzer at Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson. The couple made their home in Shelbyville, and became members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in 1955. Elvera and Nohl are the parents of two sons, Roger Nohl and Steven William Switzer.

Elvera is survived by sons, Steven of Hollywood, FL and Roger and wife Deborah (Townsend) Switzer of Vancouver, WA; and by sister, Gertrude Stitt of Arlington Heights, IL.

Elvera is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nohl, who reclaimed his life in God one month earlier; and by sister, Evelyn Hanover.
