Ethel W Waterman

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2009 in the Cowden Free Methodist Church, Cowden, Illinois. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden, Illinois. Memorials may be given to Cowden Free Methodist Camp.
Ethel was born on December 12, 1914 in Cowden, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Washington and Mary Ary Torrence Hudson. She was a member of the Cowden Free Methodist Church. She married Rev. Leo F. Mahnke on February 5, 1936. He died on April 25, 2001. She later married Norman O. Waterman on January 6, 2005. He died on February 22, 2009.
Surviving are her sons, Richard L. Mahnke and wife Ella of Princeton, Illinois and Dale R. Mahnke and wife Marilyn of Shelbyville; two grandson; three granddaughters; four step-grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; grandson, Wesley Mahnke; one great grandson; two brothers, Carl and Frank Hudson; and two half-sisters, Rohima Curtis and Marie McGee.
