Mr. Ford was born on October 7, 1920 in Lentner, Illinois, the son of Wesley Otto and Ada Muriel Ryder Ford. He served our country in the U.S. Army in WW II as a cook. He worked for General Electric and then was a groundskeeper for the Decatur Country Club and Mound Cemetery in Cowden. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Surviving are his children, Victor Duane Ford of Arcola, Peggy Sue Henson and husband Bill of Covington, GA, Frances F. Basil and husband Richard of Decatur, Bonnie C. Chatham and husband Curt of Decatur, Becky J. Sunderland and husband Paul of Decatur and Penny R. Dukeman and husband Doug of Decatur; brothers, Lawrence S. Ford of Bethany, Robert E. Ford and wife Carol of Emporia, KS, and Arthur E. Ford and wife Linda of Oxford, Wisconsin; sisters, Elsie Marie Smith of Decatur, Phyllis Lehman and husband Rodger of Mt. Zion, Ruth A. Scott of Mattoon, and Nancy L. Conway of Decatur; 21 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Floraliene Voiles; brothers-in-law, Robert Smith and Robert Scott; and sister-in-law, Jean Ford.
