Eva E. Gilda

Eva E. Gilda , 86, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of St. Louis, MO, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 in her residence.

Eva was born on November 20, 1935 in Grenada, Mississippi, the daughter of Oliver Eugene and Edna (Boyett) Hendricks. Eva worked as a waitress for Marriott Hotels in the St. Louis area for many years. She later traveled with Marriott hotels, opening restaurants and training staff in their new locations. Eva retired to Shelbyville in 2016. She enjoyed playing in bowling leagues, walking, and traveling.

Eva is survived by her sisters, Billie Quick of Shelbyville, IL and Sue Treadway of St. Ann, MO; brother, Joe Hendricks; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Virginia Ann Webb; and sisters, Eunice, Frances, Lois, Louise, and Ruth.

A memorial service will be held in the spring with burial at a later date in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
