Evelyn Joan Cloe , 87, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, 2023 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL, with Pastor Dave Dolan officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL.  Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelby County.

Joan was born on April 5, 1936, in Nokomis, IL, the daughter of Lonnie Joseph and Verla L. (Brown) Murkin.  Joan enjoyed dancing, gardening, watching hummingbirds and spending time with her family and friends.  She was a beautiful soul who will be missed dearly by her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Wilhelm of Decatur; grandsons, Chris McCoy and Tyler Wilhelm both of Decatur; granddaughter, Tammy (Kris) Keefer of Warrensburg; great grandson, Cameron Keefer of Warrensburg; sisters, Virginia Buescher of Decatur, Bonnie Carlson of Litchfield,  Shelby Girrulat of Pana, Sue (Dwayne) Bendorf of Mattoon, Marilyn Carroll of Mason City, and Rhonda (Terry) Harbaugh of Pesotum; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Leroy, Gary and Bob Murkin; and three nephews.
