Graveside services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2008 in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, Illinois with Rev. Richard Bremer officiating. Memorials may be given to Bethesda Lutheran Home, Appleton, Wisconsin. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, Illinois
Evelyn was born on February 15, 1923 in Stewardson, the daughter of Albert William and Lydia A. Kruger Friese. She worked for Shanks Packing Company in Mattoon and later Kaufman Eastern Packing Company in Decatur until her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson. She married R.K. “Butch” Reed and he preceded her in death. She later married John W. Carr and he also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son, R.K. Reed and wife Debbie of Pleasant Plaines, Illinois; grandchildren, Samuel Newton Reed and wife Michelle of Aurora, Illinois, Shirley Ann Eddy and husband Allen of Ramsey and Sara Louise Reed of Vandalia; four great grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and sister, Geneva Allman.
