Evelyn M Christopher

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Jon Callahan officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour before services on Saturday. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, near Tower Hill, IL. Memorials may be given to the SonLife Broadcasting Network Bible-thon.
Evelyn was born on July 24, 1946 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of George and Pauline (Smith) Bowlby. She attended Parkland College and later earned two diplomas from Stratford Career Institute. Evelyn was an in-home caregiver in the Champaign-Urbana area. She was a member of Family Worship Center Media Church. She married Ronald Christopher on December 22, 1993 in Tuscola, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Veronica Martinez of Florissant, MO; sister, Shirley Coffey of Sullivan, IL; brothers, Frank Bowlby of Glen Burnie, MD, Fred Bowlby of Evansville, IN, Walter Bowlby of Cave-in-Rock, IL, George Bowlby of Eldorado, IL, Elroy Bowlby of Cerro Gordo, IL, Shannon Bowlby of Cape Girardeau, MO, David Bowlby of Virden, IL and Danny Bowlby of San Diego, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Bowlby and brother, Harold Bowlby.
