Fay I Batson
(January 15, 1930 – September 26, 2018)
A memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2018 in the Lookout Addition of Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to National Kidney Foundation. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
Fay was born on January 15, 1930 in Findlay, IL, the daughter of Wilson Robert and Florine Carolyn (Hard) Doty. She attended Beecher City High School. Fay was a CNA at Shelby Memorial Hospital for 12 years and then was a cashier for Johnston’s IGA for 9 years both in Shelbyville. Fay enjoyed reading, knitting, working puzzle books, playing cards, and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren. She married Bryson “Buzz” W. Batson on August 26, 1946 and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1986.
She is survived by her five children, Sharon L. McClain of Crystal Lake, IL, Loren D. Batson of Shelbyville, IL, Nikki L. Radcliff of Shelbyville, IL, Spring E. Vilmure (Robert) of Dupo, IL and Brian R. Batson of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Robert Doty of Decatur, IL, David Doty (Karen) of Harrisburg, IL, Cliff Doty of Decatur, IL, and Kenneth Doty of Herrick, IL; eight grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buzz; brothers, Lester Doty and Lewis Doty; and her only sister, Louise Davis (Ralph).
