Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Shelby Memorial Hospital Foundation.
Fern Ellen was born on July 7, 1923, in Clarksburg, Illinois, the daughter of Frank Thomas and Sylvia Susan Bivins Wheat. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1941. She was a cook in the Shelbyville Schools until her retirement. She was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and a former member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Kaskaskia Boat Club and a charter member of the Ladies of the Moose # 1325 and Eagles Lodge # 4395 all of Shelbyville. Fern Ellen was an active member of the Shelby County Democratic Party and an avid bingo player. She married Nile Wendall Page on November 22, 1945.
Surviving are her husband, Nile; sons, Tommy Stuart Page of Little Rock, AR and Dennis Lynn Page of Buffalo, IL; grandsons, Derek and Dane Page both of Springfield and Grant Page of Little Rock, AR; step-sisters, Gene Arganbright, June Norfleet and Retha Townsend all of Shelbyville; and step-brothers, Kenneth Hopkins of Shelbyville and Dale Hopkins of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Selby Hopkins; and step-sister, Alvena Childress.
