Fieldon J Figgins
(March 14, 1975 – August 22, 2010)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 in Strasburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg. Burial will be in Lower Ash Grove Cemetery near Strasburg, IL. Memorials may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Fieldon was born on March 14, 1975 in Mattoon, IL, the son of Robert Mac and Deborah Sue Cunningham Figgins. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in the Class of 1993 and attended the University of Illinois for two years. Fieldon farmed and raised cattle near Stewardson and worked for the IPLA Sale Barn in Shelbyville. He owned and operated Computer Technologies in Effingham and Charleston, IL before going to work for Advance Digital Solutions in Mattoon, IL. Fieldon was a member of the Strasburg United Methodist Church and the Angus Association. He married Marilyn K. Powers on June 8, 2002.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn; step-son, Justin Powers of Stewardson, IL; step-daughter, Misty Christianson and husband Kevin of Effingham, IL; parents, Mac and Debbie Figgins of Strasburg, IL; brother, Kelvin Bryant Figgins of Strasburg, IL; sister, Kathy Jo Weston and husband Garrett of Towanda, IL; grandmother, Florence Figgins of Stewardson, IL; step-grandchildren, Curtis, Brandon and Madelynn Christianson of Effingham, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leonard and Mary Cunningham and Garl Figgins; and uncle, Stephen Cunningham.
