Foster L Hurst

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mt Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Shelbyville Church of Christ.
Mr. Hurst was born on February 12, 1925 in Gays, Illinois, the son of Floyd N. and Mabel Stephens Hurst. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in 1942 and Sparks Business College. He served in the Army during WWII. He worked for the Shelby Locker Service, H.A. Davis Grain Co., Shelby County F.S. all of Shelbyville, Hancock Grain Co., Carthage, and retired as manager from Pekin Farmers Grain Co. in 1990. He was a member of Shelbyville Church of Christ. He married Eleanor Maxine Roberts on August 24, 1947.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years; daughter, Kathy (Burton) Wiekert of Pekin; and grandchildren, Stephanie Wiekert (Brian) Sur of Louisville, KY; Kevin Mason of Tampa. FL; and Sarah Mason of Pensacola, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Brian Hurst; an infant daughter, Karen; a brother Olan; and grandson Kurt Wiekert.
